Richard C. Becker, MD, is currently the Stonehill Endowed Chair and Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Health and Disease, Director, Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Director of Cardiovascular Services for the University of Cincinnati Health System. My academic career has centered on cardiovascular disease and hematology, including extensive experience in phase 1, 2, 3 and post-marketing studies with the NHLBI, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CMS, FDA and pharmaceutical Industry in the United States, Europe, Asia and Southeast Asia. My work is currently funded by an NHLBI R01, American Heart Association Strategically Focused Research Network grant to study adolescent hypertension and end-organ damage, and NHLBI U54 grant- Translational Centers for Thrombotic and Hemostatic Disorders with a focus on developing and commercializing drug, diagnostic and management platforms for patients with heritable and acquired thrombotic diseases and conditions, hemophilia and von Willebrand disease.
