Jeremy Touroo is a biomedical and electrical engineer, a published research scientist, and an inventor with 10 years of experience in the medical device and life science fields. Currently a Venture Partner with BioStar Ventures, a physician-led venture capital partnership focused on transformational technologies in cardiovascular and orthopedic medicine, he evaluates deal flow for all medical device opportunities to guide investment decisions with an emphasis on technical and scientific due diligence, intellectual property assessment, competitive analysis, and pathway to market. Jeremy also served as Director, Bioengineering & Business Development for Becker Ventures for over 3 years, supporting the investment group’s expansion into the medical device sector. Prior to venture capital, Jeremy served as a R&D engineer for several years at the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute, an internationally recognized cardiovascular technology enterprise focused on clinical translation and commercialization, developing and evaluating emerging products with both startup and major medical device companies including Cook Medical, CircuLite (acquired by HeartWare), Atrium Medical Corp., and Bolton Medical (acquired by Terumo Corp.). Jeremy holds a M.S. in Cardiovascular Studies / Biomedical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University.
